교수 김**씨는 '피나스테리드는 효과성과 안전성이 여유있게 입증됐기 때문에 전 글로벌에서 판매되고 있는 것'이라며 '또 다른 탈모 치료약 개발을 위해 여러 임상이 진행되고 있지만 피나스테리드 만큼의 효능을 입증한 약은 아직 나오지 않았다'고 이야기 했다. 현재 식품의약품안전처의 허락을 받은 탈모 치료약은 프로페시아 계열(피나스테리드)과 아보다트 계열(두타스테리드) 여섯 가지뿐이다.
